Came here for my wife's birthday on Friday. The venue was very nice and the staff were nice. There were some complications, though, which unfortunately did ruin the evening for us.
When we asked about drinks obviously understanding it was a buffet, we assumed once you paid for drinks (we both had pine apple juice) that it was bottomless drinks.
However we found out that this was not the case after purchasing it. Other people were getting fizzy drinks from the dispensers so we had to pay for the fizzy drinks in order to get them bottomless making us spend an extra £5 to £10.
After this we were having our meal, the couple behind decided not to pay and just left the restaurant leaving a lot of chaos in the atmosphere. There were a lot of staff asking questions about where they went behind us and it really ruined the atmosphere.
Next my wife went up to get her food and when she began eating, there was a long piece of blonde hair in her food which she choked on and coughed out. One of the waiters saw.
Made a complaint instantly and the waiter took her plate and went round to investigate. We saw him tell off one of the staff members who had long blonde hair that wasn't in a bun/net tucked away. It was just out in a long pony tail. Shortly after his conversation with her she came out in a hair net.
When the waiter came back to us he apologised which we appreciated but then tried to advise it wasn't the chef or anything from them but was most likely a customer's hair that fell in.
Me and my wife have jet black dark hair as you can probably tell from my profile picture. It was a bit disingenuous for them to try and fabricate a truth seeing that we just saw them reprimand their own staff who we believe the culprit was.
After this we asked for the bill as there were so many things just going wrong on that day. We had to ask for a discount on the price since we never finished our meal and they gave us %15 off which worked out to around £5 or £6.
After this we just left. I had actually requested for them to bring out the birthday cake nearing the end of the evening but we didn't get that, so all in all it really did ruin the day for my wife's birthday.
I expected a lot more from Cosmo based on the reviews.
If they would want to reimburse/refund me and my wife that would be appreciated since we drove over an hour to get here and nothing worked out at all.

First of all asking if we had reserved a table, we said no and she kind of growled we would have to pay upfront. It wasnt an issue, it was how it was said. They then tried to hard sell alcahol, and after 4 times saying we wanted A bottomless soft drinks they finally accepted and charged us. We were lead to a table. Considering we had gone around an hour and half after it had opene to the resturant was busy , you would consider the turn around of the food wpuld be good fresh and hot Sadly not..
Any fried food deep fried food was over cooked stale and cold. The bbq station if you want to try and call is rhodisio the meet was tough. Not onlt tough but they just warmed it on the grill from bringing ot from the fridge that was riased as an issue and they seemed to just put something i had bitten into back on the grill
The only hot chinese food was the steamed section everything else lacked everything infact you got more taste from a microwave meal from aldi. My major worry is serviving shelfish at a temperature that didnt seemed monitored. And yes my stomach is paying for it today
What i didnt understand. It was the consistancy if it was 10 mins before close. Felt the attemtion to detail was seriously lacking keeping food hot and also with taste
The only one food item that was that. Was the curry. That had taste. It was also hot
Staff were ok contstanly walking around felt theybwere overbearing at times
Dessert was cold which and ironically the hot dessert items were warm
Fir the price we have spent the same on better meals
I went to a cosmo in a different area years ago and yes it was good. But this just seems a complete money grab as there was zero attention to the cooking zero attention of keeping food hot just a money grab as from reading other recent views on this place and others cosmo seemed to have not bothered with keeping the quality at the highest of levels whilst charging a premium price. And yes there are other world esk buffets do it better...

However, I had a concerning experience during my visit today that I feel needs to be addressed. Upon arrival, a Chinese female staff member was noticeably rude. First, she ignored us at the welcome desk. When we calmly informed her we were waiting for a table, her response was dismissive and cold. She then mentioned in an angry tone that if we didn’t have a reservation, we would have to leave within 1 hour, despite the fact that the typical dining time at COSMO is 1.5 hours. This felt especially unwelcoming and out of place, as the restaurant was not crowded when we arrived. While we understand that during peak times there may be a need for customers to hurry, there were plenty of available tables when we arrived, so we felt this approach was unnecessary. Furthermore, it was a special day for my children, and we were hoping to enjoy our time, as we have many times in the past. Unfortunately, this interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. So we had to change plan and go to another restaurant which felt more welcomed. I want to emphasize that this feedback pertains to the interaction with this specific staff member, and I don't wish to detract from the positive service we received from the rest of the team, who were friendly and helpful.
